Our Mission
To create a scenic and safe walking and biking route from the Rivanna River to the Blue Ridge Mountains along the historic Three-Notched Road.
To create this pathway, the Three Notch Trail Foundation will:
- Work with property owners and local partners to determine route options and right-of-way
- Acquire and hold easements for trail right of way
- Assist in development of planned greenway sections
- Organize a volunteer trail maintenance group
- Work with state and local agencies
- Raise funds for trail design and construction
The Goal
To provide a pathway to experience the natural, historic, and scenic piedmont between Charlottesville and Afton by the year 2010.
